Review: Proto-col Baked Mineral Foundation

I’ve always been a fan of mineral foundations I always find them really light of my skin and perfect for the warmer months.

Proto-cool kindly sent me their Baked Mineral Foundation to try out and I thought it was time I gave you my thoughts. Before Proto-col contacted me I hadn’t heard of the brand but they also kindly sent me some other bits that I’m loving but I thought the foundation deserved it’s own post.

Proto-cols mineral foundation has been formulated to suit even the most sensitive skin, its also paraban-free! The foundation contains Lavender, which they say is good for calming the skin. Rosemary, which acts as an anti-inflammatory and Green Tea! I don’t know of another foundation that contains those ingredients and I was really interested in seeing what it could do for me.

I was sent the shade Dover which is perfect for my ghost like skin-tone. I’ve been applying it with a brush and it evens out my skin-tone and gives a light-medium coverage. The foundation blends really nicely onto the skin and it doesn’t leave me looking powdery which I was worried about! Nobody likes to look caked in powder.

I was also worried I would look quite flat but I still had a lovely glow to the skin which I was pleasantly surprised about. I looked healthy (rare for someone with Crohn’s!) It also didn’t settle into any pores or fine lines around my eyes.

I have been using this on days where I don’t fancy wearing liquid foundation as it’s much easier and quicker to apply. I have also tried this over liquid and it works well too!

The Proto-col Baked Mineral foundation is ¬£27.95 which may sound a lot for a compact but honestly it’s going to last ages. I’m so happy to have been introduced to a new brand and of course a new foundation.

Have you tried anything from Proto-col?
