The first half of 2016 was pretty good, I made some amazing memories with my boyfriend that we will look back on and smile in years to come. We went on a little break to Bournemouth which was lovely, we had dinner at the nicest restaurant called the crab. We joined the National Trust and have visited some of the amazing places they have in the South East and I hope to visit more this year. I joined the gym and then went on to quit the gym – hey at least I gave it a shot! The moment I am most proud of is me passing my driving test in June. I honestly never thought I would do it but look at me now driving around in my little car. I wish I had done it years ago. July marked my boyfriends birthday and I took him to watch the motorbikes at Brands Hatch. I didn’t think I would like it but it turned out to be an amazing day and I want to go again this year.
August-September time started off what would become the worst 3 months of my life. I live with my parents and we rent the house and have done for the last 13 years – its home. Our worlds were turned upside down when the landlord told us they were selling – long story short we couldn’t afford to rent anywhere else as the prices have gone up so much. We started moving our stuff in to storage and contacted the local council (they weren’t great to be honest). The worst moment for me was when potential buyers came to view the house. I was so upset. But…..
This is where things started to change. The couple that viewed the house wanted to keep us as tenants. I honestly couldn’t have been happier. We moved all out stuff back and started to live as a happy family again. The worst 3 months of our lives were over!
In the midst of all of this my amazing boyfriend told me he was taking me to America!!!!! At the time it was bitter sweet because of the house stress I felt like I couldn’t be excited. After the stress with the house was fixed the excitement started to kick in. I WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO AMERICA!!!!! A place I always thought would be a dream. On the 21st December we flew to NYC – Christmas in New York was wonderful. Seeing all the lights was just fabulous and all the decorations. The 24th December came round and we jumped on a flight to Orlando – I was going to DISNEY WORLD! I’m a massive Disney fan and this was one place I have always wanted to go. Christmas day was spent in magic kingdom and honestly it was magical. On 30th December we had breakfast at The Crystal Palace with the characters from the hundred acre wood – I met my fav, Eeyore! NYE for us was a weird one. We planned to celebrate at Magic Kingdom watching the fireworks. This didn’t happen the park was at full capacity (100,000 people). We then tried Epcot. We got in there but honestly it was awful and we were cramped like sardines and could barely move. At 9pm we left and went back to the hotel. It turned out to be a lovely chilled night sat by the pool and we even got to watch Seaworlds fireworks. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the night.
I want to say a huge thank you to James, my boyfriend. Without him this wouldn’t have been possible and I would have never gone to America! He honestly is amazing and I love him a lot.
As I’m writing this I’m sat on the floor at Orlando airport waiting to leave, classy right?
I plan to make 2017 an amazing year for Hello Laura!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
x
