I was kindly sent this book by Ryan Mark to review and first of all I would like to say thank you to him for sending me out a signed copy. Before this book I hadn’t read a ‘dystopian’ book before and I wasn’t really sure what to expect but from chapter one I loved it.
Tremor is a fiction book which is aimed at young teens, I’m 23 and still loved it! The story itself is set in a dystopian future where a war called the ‘Fossil War’ took place and basically tore the government to shreds. Everything is now controlled by Terrafall, they are a company that apparently have everyone’s best interests at heart but the main character William doesn’t agree. William had a tough time in the book, his father was employed by Terrafall and he went missing and then his mother, a nurse disappeared too! William then takes it upon himself to find out what Terrafall is really all about.
As this was my first ever read of a dystopian novel I was truly fascinated. I felt that Ryan’s imagination truly poured into this book! It was nice to read and see what Ryan thinks a broken down society in the future would look like. I now definitely want to read more dystopian novels.
For me this was an easy read and I guess this is why it’s aimed at young teens but I still enjoyed it from cover to cover. Tremor is part of a trilogy and I’m really looking forward to reading the next book, I’m kind of gutted that his second book isn’t released till october as I would have loved to have taken it away with me next month! I guess I will have to wait patiently.
I highly recommend that you check this book out! It really is a good one and I found it really interesting and it was definitely hard to put down.
