My lovely friend Cynthia’s new book Chasing The Tide launched today! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy before. I’m a huge fan of Cynthia’s work, I love her writing style and she definitely knows how to engage with her readers through her writing.
Cynthia A. Rodriguez writes because the voices in her head demand it. In her down-time, you can find her watching movies, ranging anywhere from classic movies to action flicks (she has a weakness for Marvel adaptations), and reading steamy novels. She is stationed in Germany, where she lives with her husband and their Miniature Pinscher, Winnie (as in Pooh).
She loves hearing from her readers! You can reach Cynthia at mysticwatersbook@gmail.com. Both her Twitter and Instagram handles are @socynthsays. ‘Like’ her Facebook page at facebook.com/AuthorCynthiaARodriguez and visit her website, www.cynthiaarodriguez.com, where she blogs about books, writing, and leaves really great song suggestions.
Now onto the book…
After an immense devastation, Liza, daughter of the king of merpeople, fights her inner demons in order to go to Nivineon and meet her people as their ruler. But the need for vengeance living inside of her is all-consuming. Relationships, both old and new, become strained and Liza realizes she must come to terms with her life and take charge as the queen of demi.
Being in charge is hard enough without having the entire demi race against you. During her time in training, Liza becomes stronger than she ever thought she could be. When another tragedy hits closer to home, she finds her way back to Mystic as a new woman.
Life was easier when Liza knew her enemies and the reason behind her vendetta against the Sea Witch. But everything she thought she knew is about to change.
The second installment in the Mystic Series, Chasing the Tide is a fast-paced novel that will break your heart, mend it, and give you hope renewed.
From page one I was hooked – There are new characters, Nivineon (a underwater town), fights and heartbreak (literally from the start of the book there is a heartbreak scene! No spoilers, you will have to read it to find out). I love that in this book you met her father and found out that he was King of merpeople. You saw Liza fight her personal demons and become a ruler in Nivineon. This to me is very important as I’m suffering with anxiety and seeing Liza fight her demons made me feel a lot better and helped me alot. I also thought that you saw Liza grow from the first book which I loved, it was great to see the change in her.
As Cynthia said this book truly does break your heart and put it back together again. It’s such an inspiring book to read and I enjoyed every minute of it, I’m now devastated that I’ve finished it! Cynthia really makes you feel like you know the characters and you can relate to them which I think is really important. I cannot wait till her next book and I will continue to support her in her writing journey.
