Will Of Iron Triathlon

The amazing Willow Foundation is going to be holding an event called ‘The Will of Iron Triathlon’. Some of you may be unaware of the Willow Foundation so I’m going to give you some information.

Willow is currently the only national charity that works with seriously ill young adults. They help 16 – 40 year old fulfil unforgettable Special Days. The Special Days are all about reconnecting families and enjoying an activity of their choice, hopefully creating memories that will last a lifetime. These days give them the opportunity to return to normality, even just for a little while. For other people it gives them the chance to fulfil a life long dream!

Former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson and his wife Megs founded the foundation. They created the foundation as a lasting memory to their daughter Anna who died of cancer aged 31. Anna’s love of life and the enriching experiences of her own special days were the charity’s inspiration.

The Triathlon definitely isn’t for the faint hearted, but it definitely isn’t impossible. You can complete the triathlon alone or as part of a group! There are two distance options –

Full Ironman Distance (2.4-mile swim/112 mile bike/26.2 run)

Half Ironman Distance (1.2 mile swim/56 mile bike/13.1 mile run)

You can do the distance however you like, this could be at home, in the gym or out and about it’s completely up to you. It costs £25 to enter and the start date is 2nd May 2015, you will have 7 days to finish the challenge!

Willow will of course support you every step of the way – so you definitely won’t be alone. If you want to support Willow and take part in the triathlon click the image above.

I’m proud to be one of the many bloggers supporting this amazing charity! Please let me know if you decide to take part.
